We want to make sure Rising Sun Workshop affordable and accessible to all motorcycle enthusiasts. We also know that some members will have more time on their hands and needs will vary. There are 3 levels of membership. All members will need to book to guarantee a work bay, however drop in's are welcome if there is a free space.


Hourly Rate - $15 - Minimum 2 hour booking


WORKSHOP HOURS

Monday - Closed Tues-Sat 10am - 8pm   Sun 10am- 3pm


WHAT'S IN THE WORKSHOP

4 X WORKSHOP BAYS each equipped with:

  • Hydraulic table lift
  • Full set of hand tools and power tools
  • Work bench, bin and secure storage for personal items

COMMUNAL WORK AREA

  • Large communal workbench for members working on parts and engine re-builds.
  • A range of floor mounted tools including: 40tonne press, drill press and parts washer
  • Access to shared hand tools and power tools.

MEMBERSHIPS

In order to use the workshop, first pick a membership suited to you.

Members get access to:

  • The workshop and all its glory
  • Our motorcycle storage facility for project bikes and parts
  • Parts delivery and holding (have your parts delivered to RSW and we'll keep them safe for you)
  • Specialist workshops for members only

Membership #1 - Minaraiko (Apprentice)

Our entry-level membership, this is great for the rider with limited time but a DIY attitude. Also a popular membership amongst beginner wrenchers and first time bike owners keen to learn to modify and service their bike.

Our medium-level membership, Our medium-level membership, for the more bold and adventurous motorcycle wrencher. No doubt with with some hard-earned knowledge to pass on to our apprentice members.

  • Book your work bay up to six weeks in advance
  • Discounted rate to public workshops
  • Free access to member exclusive workshops

Our experienced-level membership, for the regular workshop user. For those on a mission to complete a build swiftly or committed to working on many, this is the most cost effective membership for those making RSW their second home.

Before You Get Started - GET INDUCTED

We run an induction classes to take you through the workshop, show you what tools we have and how to use them safely, talk you through what you can and can't do while in the workshop and get you to complete the membership agreement document. Here is a link to the membership agreement if you want to fill it out before you come in. We run workshop classes for inductions or you can arrive 30 minutes before your booked bay time to have our working manager guide you.

Book YOUR Bay Time

There are 4 bays that are available to book using our online booking system. To keep it simple we ask that you pay up front for the hours booked. Please be realistic when estimating how long it will take to complete the task to intend to work on when in the workshop. In our experience, everything takes longer than you think! The time you book includes setting up and also packing down and cleaning up, so factor this in as well. The minimum booking time is 2 hours.

Drop Ins and Emergency Fixes

You can drop in and use the workshop with out a booking if there bays available. If you have an emergency and need to use some tools for a quick fix on the way to or from somewhere, just wheel the bike in and we will sort you out!

Workshop Hours

The workshop is available for members to use Tuesday - Saturday 10am to 8pm, and Sunday 10am to 3pm. Workshop is closed Monday.
