We've had many people volunteer their time to help us finish the fit-out. Many are like us, no skill but heaps of enthusiasm. RSW member and pledger Ian Cutler turned up one Saturday morning with his Ute and fully stocked toolbox ready to put his carpentry skills to use. We had just finished laying the floorboards down to the entry ramp and trying to work out the most effienct way to trim them straight. At the same time I was battling with timber stud frame off-cuts to build a bench seat -cum-storage trough and having little luck. Like a deus-ex-machina... in walks Ian through a cloud of sawdust with his toolbelt and saves the day!
Ever since we'd pray he'd show again (which he did), to help us get through all the work. Watching Ian work was like magic, he go deep into thought before picking up a power tool, think through his strategy for building and then build it in no time. He clearly enjoyed the creative nature of the work and definitely improved the quality of the finished product.
We hope to see this guy just as often once this construction site becomes a workshop.
