Raise the Sun 2013 - Crowdfunding event
/
The day started off with a ride of about 40 bikes through Sydney at 9:30am that arrived at Zen Garage by midday to enjoy access to plenty of Young Henry's beer, some incredible Whisky Hot dogs and Boston Beans served up by our friends and volunteers. Those looking for a warming kick were able to order a luscious coffee from local roasters Single Origin Roasters, of whom the whole team were volunteering their time and skills.

The amazing team from Single Origin Roasters!
Our Show and Shine came to a draw between two very different customs and was won over a game of scissors, paper, rock! Our winner walked away with a pair of Maple Jeans from the UK and our runner up took the GoPro courtesy of Pipeburn.

Bands From Afar and John Vella wooed us with their tunes between raffle draws and our live Auction. We finished the event off with Burlesque Dancer Foxtrot India performing her famous tassel twirling routine for cash... for every 7 different way's she can tassel twirl she needed cash stuffed into her fringed g-string, which added to the fundraising tally significantly!

Foxtrot India helped us raise $300 through the cash she collected in that fringed g-string...!
We have a long list of Thank you's to all our volunteers both on the day and behind the scenes, our sponsors were incredibly supportive and thrilled to be a part of the story that is Rising Sun Workshop. For us, the BEST thing about our event was seeing (and meeting) the vast array of motorcyclists and their machines all coming together in support of Rising Sun Workshop. This, for us, was more meaningful to our success in our campaigning than the money raised. Somehow the message got out there that we are for all bikes, all levels of skill and NO clicks.

Sending love back to all
Dan, Adrian and Heleana (team Rising Sun)
